Practices are predicting greater use of high technology lenses and treatments in the coming year and are looking forward to increased lens retail order values.
According to exclusive research carried out by Optician on behalf of Seiko Optical late last year, nearly one half of practices (48 per cent) are expecting to use more progressive lenses in the coming year. There is also good news on the use of other lens types, with 43 per cent expecting to use more degressive or computer lenses and 22 per cent expecting to see an increase in sports-specific lenses.
The results are part of a broad research project into the use of optical lenses by practitioners. The survey covers practices' intentions for different lens types, different lens treatments and various frame types.
