The College of Optometrists welcomed a new president and five new council members at its AGM last week.
Board member, Professor Edward Mallen, head of the School of Optometry and Vision Science and Professor of Physiological Optics at the University of Bradford, was appointed as College president.
He said: ‘I am delighted to be elected as the new president of the College. I am proud of our profession, and look forward to continuing the great work of our immediate past president.’
The five new Council members, Prab Boparai, Lorcan Butler, Lisa O’Donoghue MCOptom, Dr Irene Ctori MCOptom and Deepali Modha, were also elected across UK regions.
