Professor led IBSA World Games classification

Professor Joy Myint from the University of Cardiff’s school of optometry was appointed one of two chief classifiers at the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) World Games.

The world championships took place in Birmingham from August 18-27 and had more than 1,250 athletes from 70 countries compete.

Prof Myint was responsible for all classification at the games, including protests and appeals, and she also had the honour of reading part of the official’s oath at the opening ceremony.
