Bollé calls for more use of protective eyewear in sport

Professional handball player and member of the GB national squad, Rafik Tahraoui has been supporting Bollé’s calls for more use of protective eyewear in sport.

Studies show that 90% of eye injuries occurring during sport could be avoided, but players continue to compete unprotected. Bollé says its Sport Protective range suits adults and children with all models complaint with international standards EN 166, ANSI Z87 and ASTM F803-11.

The range is available with or without prescription lenses. Each frame benefits from a proprietary Shock Absorption System combining hard and soft materials co-injected to create a tough, yet cushioned, frame.

Adult models such as Field come in a range of colours and use polycarbonate lenses for impact protection. Airflow systems and hydrophobic coatings prevent fogging.

All models benefit from anti-scratch coatings and some benefit from straps and fastening to keep the frame in place such as on children’s model Swag Strap (above).
