He will also assume responsibility for UK business development. Mr Louch (pictured), who will be based at the firmÕs headquarters in Blantyre in Scotland, has worked in all areas of the optical industry and brings clinical, management and manufacturing experience and knowledge to the company.
He has held senior management positions in the Kelvin-Watson Group and CooperVision UK before being appointed managing director of BatemanÕs Contact Lenses, where he set up the Bateman GroupÕs contact lens division.
Mr Louch, an optometrist with an MBA in strategic management as well as clinical qualifications, most recently operated a clinical marketing consultancy to the optical profession and industry working with a number of practices and manufacturers.
Over the past 18 months he has worked as clinical and design consultant with Provis, developing the daysoft UV.
He said: ÔOur goal was to introduce new technology and innovation to produce a one-day disposable contact lens which patients would find more comfortable than other one-day lenses, and which would also be truly affordable to the general contact lens wearer. I am pleased that we have achieved this and look forward to my involvement in bringing the lenses to the worldwide contact lens market.Õ
