Just one week remains to take part in the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Authority and the Department of Health's public consultation on proposals to introduce independent prescribing rights to optometrists.
Independent optometrist Nick Rumney, who lectures on ocular therapeutics, said: 'This is an opportunity to influence government thinking directly by making comments, via public consultation, on proposals that will affect all of our practices in the years to come.
'Although many interested parties including the AOP, FODO and the College will comment, optometrists know what their patients need and optometrists are members of the public too, I urge you to download, read and complete the on-line reply.'
