Researchers from Queen’s University Belfast are investigating if patients with wet AMD could test their vision at home

Researchers from Queen’s University Belfast and the University of Bristol are investigating if patients with wet AMD could test their own vision at home, 'saving time and money for the NHS'.

Participating patients will be provided with three different eye tests to do at home, comprising a paper-based booklet of reading tests and two tests that run on an iPodtouch. Every week, the results of all three tests will be automatically uploaded to the Study Management Centre in Bristol.

Throughout the course of the study, patients will attend their normal hospital check-up appointments and the results will be compared from the home eye test results.
