Royal College of Ophthalmologists president Carrie McEwen has been confirmed as a keynote speaker for next month’s National Optometric Conference in Birmingham

Royal College of Ophthalmologists president Carrie McEwen has been confirmed as a keynote speaker for next month’s National Optometric Conference in Birmingham.

Parul Desai, consultant in ophthalmology and public health at Moorfields Eye Hospital will also present at the event, being held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole from November 5-6.

Discussions would primarily address building the evidence base to make the case for community services.

Senior figures from Capita, the organisation that took over the running of NHS England’s Primary Care Support (PCS) service from September 1 2015, had also been booked. They will provide an insight into their plans to modernise PCS services, which include processing GOS claims and performer list applications.
