Record attendance at College of Optometrists Open House event

A record 609 visitors were welcomed at the College of Optometrists’ London headquarters recently as part of the Open House London series of events

A record 609 visitors were welcomed at the College of Optometrists’ London headquarters recently as part of the Open House London series of events - the 12th year in which the College has participated. Visitors came from across the UK and as far afield as China and Chile.

The College used the event to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War and transported visitors back to 1914 with the British Optical Association Museum’s First World War trail. Costumed characters provided anecdotes and information, and museum curator Neil Handley (right), pictured with Mark Dennis, gave a talk on sight testing equipment of the period.
