A record 35,000 visitors from 70 countries braved the cold to attend German trade show Opti Munich last weekend, further confirming its place as a premier event on the optical calendar. Last year's show attracted some 34,000 visitors from 69 countries.
Over 600 exhibitors from 48 countries showcased their products and services at the New Munich Trade Centre from January 26-28 across four halls, covering a floor space of 45,000 square metres. Visitors were invited to preview the latest fashion trends and technical developments in frames, sunglasses, contact lenses, instruments and services, with a new additional area devoted to hearing aids.
More than a third of visitors came from abroad, including Great Britain, Austria and Italy. Show organiser Dr Arno Jager said: 'Opti Munich is a dynamic interface platform for the sector. We are particularly pleased that the fair has again broadened its international spectrum considerably this year, both in terms of the exhibitors and the visitors.'
