Replay wins GOC contract

Replay Learning and IT partner Sliced Bread have won a tender process to develop the infrastructure for the General Optical Council's next CET scheme starting January 2013.

The GOC said it would provide a helpline to support CET enquiries in the new cycle, and establish an independent panel to control approval and quality assurance of training, which would be accessed via the GOC's website.

Peter Charlesworth, managing director of Replay Learning, said: 'We are looking forward to working with the GOC to develop a modern, easy to use system that incorporates technology for mobile devices and tablets. The GOC's enhanced CET scheme will encourage registrants to participate in more relevant and interactive CET and our system is designed to support that.'

Replay replaces Vantage Technologies, which currently administers the CET scheme on behalf of the GOC. Vantage's contract will end on March 31 2013, once it has managed the end of the current CET cycle and a shortfall period.
