Rewarding the best practice website

Rodenstock is proposing a new way of judging the Practice Website of the Year category in this year's Eye Care Awards, but we need your help to make sure we reward the most deserving website.

The Practice Website of the Year category, sponsored by Rodenstock, will seek to reward the practice which has used the web in the most effective way. That may be through the promotion of eye care, demonstrating frames and lenses or generating new patient visits. The judging panel will be made up of members of the public who will look at the websites of the practices entering this category. To enter all you need to do is to tell us the website address of your site or a site which you wish to nominate. You can do that by sending it to us on a postcard or by telephoning Angela Jones on 020 8652 3818, or by email: angela.jones @rbi.co.uk. Last year proved to be a watershed for many internet companies. The year started with many pundits suggesting the net would make bricks and mortar businesses a thing of the past, the truth was somewhat different. Although dotcoms failed to damage traditional business their presence cannot be ignored. The newspapers were full of high profile dotcom failures but even so the net has well and truly made its mark. The reluctance to shop online will not last forever and the net is clearly a very important tool for those looking for eye care services and products. The number of people buying online is very low but the numbers surfing, or able to surf the net are massive. Our judges will search each nominated site as a customer would and judge its effectiveness, but they can only do that if you have supplied its address. To reward the best we need to get those website addresses so please make your nomination today.
