
The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) has appointed Jim Harra as vice chair of the board of trustees, as well as chair of the governance, nominations and remuneration committee.
Harra succeeded Martin Davidson, who stepped down after six years as vice chair. Commenting on his appointment, Harra said: ‘I’ve been a long-time follower of RNIB’s work and am thrilled to be joining the charity as its new vice chair.’
In other RNIB news, Daryl Stewart, a 23-year-old volunteer with RNIB Scotland, received the Special Recognition Award for Young Volunteer of the Year at the 2025 Inspiring Volunteer Awards, run by Volunteer Edinburgh.
