The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB)’s support service for people with eye conditions and sight loss has been awarded the Advice Quality Standard (AQS).
The AQS quality framework, aimed at social welfare and law services, set and assessed standards to assure the quality of information and advice provided.
This accreditation was achieved by the RNIB’s eye care liaison officer service (ECLOs). ECLOs worked within eye clinics across the UK, offering support to patients throughout their sight loss journey.
Cathie Burke, RNIB’s practice lead for eye care support, described the accreditation as an honour and said: ‘It means patients can rest assured they’re receiving the highest level of care and gives valuable recognition to our ECLOs.’
