The pack of 12 booklets covering areas such as clear print, signs and websites was launched last week at the Design Museum at an event hosted by design guru Sir Terence Conran. The RNIB has claimed businesses can reach over 1.7m more customers if they take note of its message. The pack has been launched as further parts of the Disability Discrimination Act come into force. From 2004, all service providers have to make 'reasonable adjustments' to the physical features of their premises to overcome physical barriers to access. This could include signage for those with a visual handicap. 'Blind and partially sighted people are continually frustrated because information is not accessible to them,' said Dermot Ryan, RNIB campaigns officer for accessible information. 'They should be able to receive information, and this is a sizeable customer base which cannot be ignored.' The pack costs &\#163;20 from the London-based charity. It is also available to non-profit organisations at the reduced price of &\#163;17.
