Staff from Specsavers in Torquay and Teignmouth have raised £1,000 for Cancer Research UK after taking part in the ‘Rock Solid’ mud obstacle race.
The 10k assault course took place in Escot Park Exeter, with 10 staff members taking part. Their efforts follow the recent loss of store director Joy Filon, who had been suffering from cancer, a statement by the practice said.
Specsavers Torquay and Teignmouth store director Simon Simmonds said: ‘I had the idea of entering a staff team into Rock Solid as a great team building exercise, all while raising money and support for Cancer Research UK. The guys picked up the challenge and smashed it so I am immensely proud of them all.’
