New book looks back at Rodenstock's legacy

A special hardback book to commemorate 140 years of Rodenstock has been published by the German optics manufacturer.

How We See the World: The History of Better Vision tells the story of Josef Rodenstock and how he began his quest to ‘understand the system of vision in its entirety’ with the first framed spectacles of the modern era.

‘By patenting the first modern, framed spectacles, not only did Josef Rodenstock instantly rise to become the court optician to the German Kaiser, but he was already considered to be a pioneer of vision and lay the foundation for an exemplary success story,’ said a Rodenstock spokesperson.
