Rodenstock-consulting-appsRodenstock has said a growing number of its customers are now using its range of consulting apps as tools to engage with patients.

Technology was playing an increasingly important role in helping opticians consult effectively, the company said.

Rodenstock lens product manager Debbie Bathgate said: ‘Opticians are recognising that they need to really make themselves stand out in the optical market against tough opposition from the high street and Internet. It’s no longer enough to just supply the same lenses the consumer has always had – they can do that themselves online.

‘To stand out as a specialist you need to talk about the very best solutions available to each customer, every time. You can do that by making the most of available consulting tools, either electronic and interactive, or more traditional tactile products to effectively demonstrate the benefits of superior products.’

The apps, including a Lens Consulting app, EyeConsulting+ 2.0 and House of Better Vision interactive app, were available for iPad with similar programs for PC users.
