Rodenstock focuses on customer support

Manufacturing

Rodenstock recently revealed its revamped headquarters in Northfleet, Kent following a £1m refit which will see the centre reposition to quit manufacturing and concentrate on customer service.

Last year the firm ceased lens surfacing at the plant (01.06.12) and reconfigured the site around customer support, lens stock supply and glazing. The investment is part of a three-year injection of cash which will see Northfleet concentrate less on manufacturing and spend more time supporting customers and helping them develop their businesses.

Northfleet was opened in 1987 and a refurbishment was well overdue, said UK managing director Dietmar Rathbauer. 'It was important that we put customer service back at the centre of our whole company process and now Rodenstock UK will be a sales and marketing organisation first and foremost, focusing on customers' needs and delivering excellent service and operational excellence in all our systems and processes.'
