Rodenstock lens meets growing need

Rodenstock has launched the Manufaktur lens, suitable for a wide range of Rx requirements.

The manufacturer claimed the new lens was suitable for medical purposes, bifocals, trifocals with special vision zones, along with diving and swimming goggles. It said the individually calculated lens was also suitable for slightly rarer requirements such as in monocles, lorgnettes and even pince nez glasses.

'While the demand for spectacle lenses for aphakic patients is not as high now, the requests we receive for extreme prescriptions seem to grow on a daily basis,' said Debbie Bathgate, Rodenstock lens product manager. 'It's rewarding to be able to satisfy the demands of clients who may need near vision at the top and bottoms of their lens and distance in the middle, or other unlikely combinations,' she added.
