Rupert Smith Memorial Fund

Barry Smith has established a memorial trust in memory of his son Rupert who tragically died in an accident four years ago.

Barry Smith, senior partner of Wiltshire-based opticians Haine & Smith, has established a memorial trust in memory of his son Rupert who tragically died in an accident four years ago.

Rupert was 18 years old when he died and worked as an optical assistant at the group's Marlborough practice, where he was popular with staff and patients alike.

The family has decided that grants from Rupert's fund will support projects working with disadvantaged young people in music and football - his main interests and hobbies.

Anyone who would like to contribute to this charitable fund should make cheques payable to: The Community Foundation for Wiltshire and Swindon, and send it to 48 New Park Street, Devizes, Wiltshire SN10 1DS, stating that it is for the Rupert Smith Fund.
