​The board of directors at Safilo Group ratifies a new business plan for 2020-24

The board of directors at Safilo Group has ratified a new business plan for 2020-24 which focuses on digital development and a consumer-targeted strategy.

Developments such as the extension of the Marc Jacobs license and the exit of Dior and Fendi from the group were considered.

Future-proofing measures have also been planned, with the brand mentioning the millennial and gen-Z market and the need to safeguard the group’s competitiveness. As many as 700 redundancies in Italy have been identified as necessary for 2020.

Chief executive officer Angelo Trocchia commented: ‘We need to reorganise our manufacturing footprint by realigning its current capacity to our future production needs, thus safeguarding the group’s competitiveness and financial solidity for the long term.’
