Safilo maintains growth

Net sales were up 14.9% to €226.6m

Italian eyewear manufacturer Safilo has posted results showing another quarter of new sales and profits growth, with net sales up 14.9% to €226.6m and 5.6% organic growth.

Growth was partly attributed to sunglass sales in Europe and emerging markets, with a 7.1% increase in the third quarter sales during a buoyant summer season.

Double digit growth was seen in sales of Carrera and Polaroid products, while other licensed brands in the portfolio, including Tommy Hilfiger, David Beckham, Under Armour and Isabel Marant, were also cited for their ‘positive organic performance.’

Safilo CEO Angelo Trocchia said: ‘Our [Q3] performance reflected the continued strength of Europe, Latin America and the Middle East markets, the first significant business rebound of Asia, and the North American market holding up versus another tough period of comparison and some logistic delays in the US.’
