Safilo partners with Toyota for sustainable company cars

Safilo has started to replace its entire fleet of company cars with Toyota and Lexus hybrid vehicles as part of the eyewear company’s sustainability commitment.

There are plans to replace 100 new cars this year at Safilo’s offices in Italy and in other countries with the rest of the fleet gradually moving to hybrid.

Angelo Trocchia, CEO of Safilo Group, said: ‘We have turned to a partner like Toyota, recognised for its global capabilities in the development of hybrid technology cars, to bring us even closer to the objectives of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. We have already made tangible progress on fronts such as the efficiency of water and energy consumption in our manufacturing sites and we are more determined than ever to go much further in the name of sustainability.’
