Sauflon eyes Budapest site

Sauflon Pharmaceuticals intends to build a £10m contact lens manufacturing plant near Budapest according to a report from Hungarian investment agency ITD.

The report reveals that the Hungarian government has decided to award Sauflon with a special investment subsidy, the size of which will only be revealed when it has been approved by the EU.

Sauflon expects the plant to produce an inital 100 million contact lenses per year, rising to 350 million within three to four years after investment totalling over £32m.
