Scicon Sports swaps eyewear for face masks

Scicon Sports has stopped production of its protective eyewear to make face masks

Scicon Sports has stopped production of its bags and protective eyewear and started manufacturing face masks in response to global demand during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The Italian company’s entire production line has been converted in response to requests for protective equipment from companies, private entities and law enforcement agencies.

Scicon Sports has partnered with Italian fabric suppliers to develop a mask that complies with FFP1 standards, although it has not currently received approval from the Italian National Institute of Health.

Claudio Fantin, marketing strategist at the ASG Group, which Scicon Sports is a part of, said: ‘We admit that we are at war and we must unite to win the fight against Covid-19. We urge all apparel manufacturers to follow our model and we are ready to provide as much insight as we can to help, from drawings, data sheets and information on materials, to tips and suggestions for anyone that wants to follow suit.’
