Scottish practice calls for local support on BID vote

Practice owner Sian Wilkie calls for support of Business Improvement District (BID) campaign to bring increased investments into the local community of Alexandria, Scotland. 

On November 14, a vote from local businesses will determine whether Alexandria can be re-branded as a designated BID area, which is a business-led partnership bringing potential benefits such as advertising and better signage for businesses.  

As director of Wilkie’s Eyecare, which has a practice at 136 Main Street in Alexandria, as well as in Dumbarton and Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire, Wilkie has been at the forefront of the project. She said: 'We want to work with the council to effect change, but the BID will allow firms here to put a pot of money up to take ownership of their own future.
