Scrivens Opticians clinical lead reaches 40th anniversary

Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care celebrated Mike Cheeseman’s 40th year with the business., currently as clinical lead.  

Scrivens’ operations director Adrian Ellis and professional services director Jeet Saimbi thanked the clinical lead for his services at its Edgbaston-based headquarters. 

After starting as a mobile dispensing optician in 1977, Cheeseman progressed from branch manager at various Birmingham branches to a training role in 2013, and on to clinical lead. 

Cheeseman said he was proud to be a part of the company's success and reflected on the technological advancements that have evolved eye care services.  

He said: 'When I joined Scrivens, I never dreamed of being in the position I am now and I'm grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given to progress my career. The business has grown from 34 branches when I started in 1983 to 169 at present, and the strong family ethos of the company which drew me to it initially remains today.'
