Tompkins, Knight & Son Optometrists create outdoor gallery for 'urban art'

A derelict outbuilding in the car park of Tompkins, Knight & Son Optometrists has been transformed into an outdoor gallery displaying ‘urban art.’

The former garage at the Northampton practice was destroyed following a fire last year but has now been repurposed as a gallery showing eye-themed artworks.

Local graffiti artist Phil Harding collaborated with practice staff to turn the garage into the studio and said the project could evolve into a community art space.

‘Hopefully patients will see it and enjoy it as they arrive at the practice and they could potentially have the chance to get involved themselves and have their own designs on the walls,’ he said.
