SDSÕs Eyecapture ophthalmic imaging software for Windows NT/2000 can now link directly to four of the leading fundus cameras.
Existing software links to the Nidek hand-held camera and the Topcon fundus camera have been enhanced with the addition of the latest Canon fundus camera.
SDS said it is also compatible with the new hand-held retinal imaging system, Scanoscope (see story, left).
Marketed under the Rodenstock instrument brand, this video technology is expected to have a major impact on UK optics. It records dynamic real-time images and can also store conventional non-mydriatic still imaging in colour or monochrome.
SDSmanaging director John Chartres said: ÔReal-time angiography has the advantage of obtaining results which are available immediately for evaluation and treatment. The advantages of this technology in the practice are very significant.Õ
SDS practice management software is widely used in UK practices and brings together modules from appointments and patient recalls to video dispensing, ordering and electronic point of sale.
