Second Specialist Club seminar held is hailed a success

The second Specialist Club seminar held on March 21 in Birmingham was hailed a success.

The theme of the event was Astigmatism: contact lens options when disposables can’t cope and featured demonstrations of patient fittings for soft, gas permeable, hybrid and scleral contact lenses.

Practice owner and optometrist Indie Grewal gave the keynote speech on how myopia progression management is helping to develop his contact lens business. Lens fittings were carried out by Menicon and UltraVision and delegates were able to experience how to use and gather information from topography instruments.

Head of SynergEyes Professional Services Phil Thomson said: ‘Following delegate feedback, this second Specialist Club delivered more hands-on workshops and, thanks to the fantastic facilities at the National Resource Centre, interactive live fitting demonstrations of astigmatic patients beamed from the clinic into the main seminar room.’
