Fife-based Seescape scooped a Community Award at the Specsavers-sponsored Visionary Conference in Birmingham last month for its work supporting people with sight loss.

‘We are incredibly proud to be recognised with this award and grateful to all colleagues for their daily work to support people with sight loss in Fife,’ said Seescape chief executive Lesley Carcary (pictured above).

Judges praised the charity, formerly Fife Society for the Blind, for using local expertise, voices and contacts for positive change, working in partnership with local organisations, including the NHS, to improve community eye health.

The charity has expanded in the past year with a new hub in Glenrothes and a renewed focus on accessible technology to support people experiencing loneliness or isolation due to sight loss.
