An Irish retail director has raised significant funds culminating in an ‘all eyes and ears’ golf day in preparation for an eye care mission in India.
Lisa Walsh, store director of Liffey Valley Specsavers in Ireland has helped raise more than €50,000 for the Hope Foundation ahead of a trip to the charity’s clinic in India this autumn, with a team of optometrists and dispensing opticians.
Walsh said: ‘Last year was my first one involved with the Hope Foundation charity that supports the development of underprivileged sections of society in India.
‘We raised €11,000. This year my target was €35,000, enough to run the clinic in Kolkata for a whole year. Thanks to the kindness and dedication of Specsavers colleagues right across the country we have surpassed that already.’
