Sewing star gets special specs

Lutterworth resident and Edmonds & Slatter Opticians patient Heather Jacks was recently presented with a special pair of spectacles after being crowned winner of BBC2’s The Great British Sewing Bee.

‘To mark the occasion we thought it would be fitting to present her with an award of our own, and what could be more appropriate than a beautiful pair of bespoke sewing spectacles?’ said a spokesperson for the group.

The spectacles, which have been dispensed with lenses for a specific distance for knitting, were presented by the group’s long standing assistant manageress Linda Smith.
