Lens manufacturer Shamir reports an increase in profits
Israeli lens manufacturer Shamir, which specialises in progressive lenses, posted a first quarter net profit of $2.9m, up from $2.3m during the same period last year.
The company's revenue also increased, up 29.5 per cent to $38m.
Commenting on the results Shamir's chief executive Eyal Hayardeny said: 'We experienced favourable results, many of which reflect the changes we have instituted throughout our organisation to effectuate improved sales and manufacturing capabilities.'
