Martyn Kemp Opticians Woodhouse has received a visit from MP for Sheffield South East, Clive Betts (pictured left). He met with Rob Hughes (right), senior optometrist at the practice and chair of the Sheffield Local Optical Committee (LOC). Betts was told that regular eye tests were vital to protect eyesight and spot serious illness.
Hughes added: 'In Sheffield we are particularly proud of the extra services we offer over and above a normal examination. The LOC has worked hard with NHS Sheffield to develop schemes to examine patients more locally in community optometric practices, where there are shorter waiting times, for conditions for which they would normally be sent to hospital.'
