The last show, in October 2003, attracted 15,092 visitors, 344 exhibitors from 15 countries including the UK, and on-site sales were recorded at ´5.3bn, a record figure for the show.
Show organisers point out that international exhibitors have taken advantage of IOFT as a platform to penetrate and expand into the Japanese and nearby Asian markets. With Inspecs recognised in the Eyewear of the Year Award Competition for its Speedo Eyewear along with Oliver Goldsmith, Gold and Wood, Cazal and Lindberg Denmark, organisers state this is proof that foreign designs are well received on the Japanese market.
