Delegate numbers were up again at this year's Silmo exhibition at Porte de Versailles, Paris, with more than 46,600 people turning out to see the latest in eyewear design.
Figures showed a 7.5 per cent increase in attendance when compared to the 43,500 that attended last year's show.
Attendance numbers surpassed the expectations of organisers, who were anticipating 44,000. In particular, the number of international visitors who made the journey to Paris increased by 11.8 per cent this year.
The 85,000sq m of exhibition space was packed by around 1,000 exhibitors. The UK was well represented with 28 exhibitors, including Anglo Italian, Blue Gem Eyewear, Brulimar, Continental Eyewear, Dunelm and Mondottica.
