Simmons Optometrists has won an award for the Best Independent Retailer, presented by the Rutland and Stamford Mercury on September 27.
Manjula Alexander, one of the practice owners, said: ‘All of us feel so proud and grateful to be recognised and shortlisted for this award. We really do put our all into every day, trying to and be the best we can for all of our lovely patients.’
Alexander noted that the award was a bittersweet moment for the team, stating: ‘Winning this year in particular means so much to us having been through a very sad and difficult time, with only recently losing our good friend and manager of 37 years.
‘This achievement is wholeheartedly dedicated to Mark.’
The team said it was only right to dedicate the award in honour of late practice manager, Mark Price, whose impact upon the practice and patients was positively remembered among the local community.
