Single Point of Access service wins HSJ award

Awards Hospitals

The Single Point of Access (SPoA) service, hosted by Moorfields Eye Hospital, took home the Acute Sector Innovation of the Year award at the HSJ Awards 2024.

The SPoA service represented a partnership between Moorfields, Royal Free London, North Central London (NCL), the Local Optical Committee Support Unit (LOCSU) and NHS England.

The new pathway improved referral processing and patient safety, alongside reducing patient journey time and alleviating the burden on GPs.

‘It’s such an honour to win the award,’ said Peter Thomas, executive director of digital discovery and CCIO at Moorfields.
