Slit lamp donated to VCHP

Keeler and Birmingham Optical donated an £18,000 slit lamp to Vision Care for Homeless People’s (VCHP) clinic in Brighton to improve services offered to patients.

The slit lamp replaced a 30-year-old model and would improve monitoring, help with referrals and provide data storage when patients returned for further checks.

Nicola Bennett, clinical product training manager at Keeler, said: ‘The impact of this enhanced care can be enormous in moving people along the right pathways at the VCHP clinic within this homeless centre. Not being able to see can be a barrier to literacy and provides screening for some of the wider health concerns.’
