SMC tee off

SMC TEE OFF: David Kirk (left), walked away with the coveted Masters Trophy at the annual Spectacle Makers' Company (SMC) golf day in Saffron Walden. Kirk, who is pictured with deputy master Michael Barton, also organised the Nikon-sponsored event and described it as a great success. The morning greensomes saw the golfers compete for the Spectacle Makers' Trophy, which was won by Brian Collison and Annabel Barton. Next year's event will take place at Sonning Golf Club near Reading on June 12. All liverymen and freemen of the SMC are welcome and may bring guests.
