Sola wins OLA award for lens

Sola International was presented with an Award of Excellence for Best Lens Design from the Optical Laboratories Association at its recent annual awards in the US.
The prize went to the SolaOne progressive lens, a premium, all-purpose progressive launched in 2003. Sola president Jeremy Bishop said, 'SolaOne represents our continued emphasis on manufacturing and distributing high margin value-added products, including progressive lenses and lens treatments such as Teflon EasyCare lens coating. Given the extended product lifecycles in our market, I anticipate that such products will continue to form the cornerstone of our future revenue and profit stream.'
He added that SolaOne represented a significant technological advancement in lens design. 'As such, it positions Sola as a leading supplier of superior lens products, coatings and services to our customers including the members of the OLA, which presented us with this coveted award.'
