Specsavers enhances consulting room designs

Multiples Practice

Specsavers has reported that thousands of clinicians, including around 500 UK optometrists, have contributed to its global initiative to enhance consulting rooms.

The Specsavers global project, which began last year, has seen specialists in ergonomics engage with optometrists and audiologists to develop the consulting room in terms of design and layout.

‘We worked with chartered ergonomists Morgan Maxwell, who visited practices throughout the Specsavers estate,’ said Paul Morris, director of professional advancement at Specsavers.

‘Thousands of clinicians provided feedback on the working environment and where they experienced issues of discomfort through a “body map survey.”’

Following the feedback, the project is now entering a prototype phase with a design that will go into a number of practices, a process from which further learnings will be gained.
