Specsavers Healthcall has been officially launched after the multiple’s acquisition of the domiciliary eye care provider in the summer.
The company has been working to develop the business over the last few months since Healthcall – one of the UK’s largest home-visiting opticians – was purchased by Specsavers in July
Mobile optometrists would now take portable eye testing kits and a range of 180 glasses to housebound patients living in their own homes or in a care home.
Specsavers director of professional services Paul Carroll said: ‘As the UK population ages, it’s inevitable that the need for need for domiciliary eye care will increase. At Specsavers we recognise that an increasing number of our customers can no longer access our stores on the high street so we want to make sure Specsavers’ services are still available to them in their own homes.’
