Specsavers invests in OCT to tackle glaucoma

Specsavers has invested in diagnostic imaging technology to detect glaucoma faster, with more than 7.4 million OCT scans (3.7 million patients) captured in the past year.

The multiple said its clinicians have referred almost 100,000 people for glaucoma related pathology, assessed more than 800,000 people related to someone with glaucoma, tested the pressure of six million patients' eyes and conducted three million visual field tests.

For the first time ever they are able to see the type of visual field assessments they order over time, the reasons chosen for the assessment and much more besides. This data helps us understand the needs of the communities we serve and tailor our care to meet these needs.
