Adam Wannell is appointed as head of EOS at Specsavers

Adam Wannell has been appointed as head of EOS (enhanced optical services) at Specsavers.

Wannell has more than 20 years’ experience in a range of clinical settings including hospital clinics, laser eye surgery and community optometry in independent and multiples practices.

He will join a national network of 15 heads of EOS who are responsible for giving peer to peer support to store partners, implementing best practice, planning clinical accreditations and delivering training.

‘I had felt for some time that if Specsavers really focused on clinical services, in the way that it has on retail and customer service, it would be an unbeatable combination,’ said Wannel. ‘It is clear that a sea change is needed because we are facing the perfect storm of technological change, an NHS under pressure, professional bodies’ involvement, and increases in eye disease.’
