
Specscart customers have reached a milestone of donating 50,000 pairs of their old glasses for a charity recycling project in Greater Manchester.
Each of the three Specscart practices across the city had a Bury Lions Club recycling bin where customers could drop off broken, out of date or unloved spectacles.
For nearly 50 years, Lions Club International’s Recycle for Sight campaign has been recycling unwanted spectacles and hearing aids and donating them to people in need across 25 countries worldwide.
Specscart founder and managing director Sid Sethi said: ‘Specscart customers, in their thousands, have been giving the gift of sight to complete strangers thanks to this brilliant campaign over the last seven years.’
