Owners of contact lens and solutions manufacturer Bausch+Lomb have remained silent on growing speculation about a possible sale or flotation of the brand.
A number of potential suitors have been linked with an acquisition since last month's reports that parent company Warburg Pincus was exploring its options (News 21.12.12).
Warburg has not publicly commented on the media rumours, though, which place a $10bn price tag on the company it took private in 2007 for some $3.7bn (News 18.05.07).
Among those said to be interested was contact lens rival and manufacturer of the Acuvue range, Johnson & Johnson. This speculation mounted after plans were announced last week for a €100m expansion at J&J's Vistakon Ireland plant that would create 100 new jobs.
