Derbyshire dispensing optician Michael Carr (left) has become one of only 70 practitioners to gain a diploma in sports vision practice.
Carr, from Stanley H Field Optometrists in Alfreton, passed the course with distinction and is now qualified to advise on and treat sportsmen and sportswomen.
To complete the diploma, Carr was required to complete a project which tested sports vision products on a sports playing patient. His subject was a golfer and the project addressed improvements in putting through the use of eyewear.
Carr is now working on a prototype polarised lens, made to reduce distortion and claimed to improve a golfer's handicap by two shots.
